Cityscape Hat Day

Treat yourself to a Friday when you can slow down, learn new knitting skills in the company of others and make a hat to keep you warm on a cold winter day.

The Cityscape Hat is a ribbed hat featuring a folded brim with elegant cables and neat crown shaping. It is part of a matching accessory collection (hat, cowl, fingerless mitts) by designer Tori Yu. It is knitted from the bottom up with a folded, cabled brim and a 2×2 ribbed body.

You should be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling.

I will guide you through every stage of the pattern – understanding the techniques, joining and working in the round, cable techniques, decreases to maintain the 2×2 ribbed body at the top of the hat. solving problems as they come up and knitting with confidence. 

By the end of the day, depending on your knitting pace, you should have your hat finished. I also hope you will feel confident about taking on other knitting projects without hesitation.

I will provide you with the pattern and the yarn in a colour of your choice.

You will need 4mm needles, a cable needle and a stitch marker which you can purchase from the shop. You will have a 10% discount on any purchases from the shop on the day.

We will break for a 2 course lunch half way through the day.
