Our Ethos

Sustainable yarns are not just a trend; they represent a conscious choice to weave a better future one stitch at a time.

We are committed to providing the most sustainable yarn options available and we are continually looking for better solutions when it comes to yarn and haberdashery.

The yarns in our shop are produced with utmost care for this planet and its people.

They are all plastic-free and a good portion of them are GOTS certified, the leading organic certificate in the textile industry.

Most of the yarn producers we work with know the flocks and shepherds they source their fleeces from directly, and have built long-standing relationships with them. Most of them prioritise working with production partners that are close to them in order to cut down on transport emissions.

For our packing material, we only use eco-friendly packaging produced in Britain.

We aim to support a diverse range of charities throughout the year and we use Ecologi to help us be a Climate Positive business. We plant a tree for every purchase of £50 or more made in our shop.

In our personal life, the choices we make are always with nature in mind. We don’t have a car, we’d always choose a train or a ferry over a plane, we have an allotment where we grow our own fruit and veg and we make a lot of our own stuff… Though nowhere near perfect, it’s our attempt at a sustainable lifestyle that we can only keep on improving on.
